If he had lived 200 plus years ago without the wonders of modern medical science Amar’e Stoudemire would have been a pirate captain. He’d definitely have had an eye-patch, a peg leg (maybe two) and unfortunately, as a result of recent events, a hook for a hand. He even yells ARRRGHH when fouled going up for a dunk and dresses with a bit of flamboyance and class. Did pirates have braids in their hair? Sure, why not.
By Chris Edser (Cheers to Gabe Cunnett for the hook hand suggestion.)

I don’t really fear a meteor threatening life on Earth as we know it. If the missiles, early warning systems or whatever else fail we can rely on Serge Ibaka helping on defense from the weak side. Illustration by Chris Edser

I’ve mention these before, but Jacob Weinstein’s prints for Free Darko are incredible and these of Walton and Iverson are brand new. The prints have also been made available for a short time again. If you like to read intelligent words about basketball as well as look at intelligent pictures, Bethlehem Shoals of Free Darko is involved in a new project called The Classical.
